Got My Mojo Working is a boutique that carries handmade guitar tube amplifiers, especially tailored for blues music.
Each and every piece is entirely handmade and customized based on the artist’s needs.
Our instruments are not replicas of known amplifiers, they are all made of original circuits.
The philosophy behind Got My Mojo Working is the “Research for the lost sound”, research for sounds based on handicraft design and production that many modern companies have abandoned to follow a mass market production.
At Got My Mojo Working we’ve decided to start from scratch, starting with the basic circuitry that companies like RCA or General Electrics supplied together with valves, thus recreating elementary electric circuits of vintage instruments and preserving their typical sonorities.
Got My Mojo Working amps are entirely handmade, from chassis to hand wounded transformers in oilpaper.
Great care has been given to details and materials used like highest quality electrical components, leather upholstery and wood.
The strong link with the tradition can be found in the Suitcase series: tube amplifiers made on 20’s and 40’s originals suitcases , that faithfully reproduce, in sound and appearance, the amplifiers that early bluesman hand built using pieces of shortwaves radio.
The research on sound continues with the artists: every Got My Mojo Working product is realized following the specifics made by clients with the added values of various test made on the amp during its realization.
Got My Mojo Working is a little boutique located in Rome, Italy, founded
by Gianluca Durante and Paolo Pibiri, in 2012.
As already described, Got My Mojo Working arises from the need to find the typical sounds of vintage instruments, sounds which are possible thanks to a construction technique and an handcrafted attention almost lost.
